Table of Contents

Rotary lobe pump is a type of positive displacement pump, it generates a fixed amount of fluid per revolution, and the driver’s power decides the pressure. But sometimes rotary lobe pump is not generating correct flow or pressure; this can be caused by some factors below.

The pump is not operating

Ensure the driver and other parts are operational and the pump is not locked up.

The pump speed is too low

Check the operating speed.

Leak in piping

Check suction and discharge piping for leaks.

Pressure gauge or instrumentation defective

Inspect and replace it.

Loss of vacuum pressure

Check suction piping for leaks.

The pump is run dry

Inspect the valve and pipe; fill fluid into the pump chamber.

Lobe damaged

Check lobes and replace them.

Wear plates, liners or pump housing worn

Adjust or replace it; the reverse side of the wear plates is available.

The defective pressure relief valve

Inspect, adjust and replace pressure relief valve.

High pressure

Pump efficiency reduces with pressure. Let the pump is working at the standard range of pressure.
